경기과학기술대학교는 1966년 UNESCO의 차관으로 설립한 정밀기기센터(FIC)를 기반으로, 미래지향적이고 창의적인 과학기술인재를 양성하기 위해 산업통상자원부가 국가정책으로 설립한 특성화 대학이며, 1999년 개교 이래 대한민국 산업 발전에 기여한 많은 과학기술인력을 배출했습니다.

우리 대학은 4차 산업혁명 시대의 급변하는 환경에 능동적으로 대응하고, 당면한 문제를 통합적 사고력으로 해결하는 창의적인 과학기술인재 양성을 위해 개별 학문의 경계를 넘는 첨단융합교육을 실시하고 있으며, 이를 기반으로 산학일체 맞춤형 교육시스템의 해외 수출도 추진하고 있습니다.

그 결과 교육부 일반재정지원대학, 교육국제화역량 인증대학(IEQAS), 뿌리산업 외국인 기술인력 양성대학, 전문대학 혁신지원사업, 3단계 산학연협력 선도전문대학 육성사업(LINC 3.0), 조기취업형 계약학과 선도전문대학 육성사업, 첨단분야 혁신융합대학사업, 미래형 자동차 현장인력양성사업, 일학습병행 공동훈련센터사업, 산업혁신기반구축사업 등 첨단분야 융합교육과 산학협력 분야에서 많은 결실을 이루었습니다.

앞으로 우리 경기과학기술대학교는 혁신성장을 주도하는 창의적 현장실무인재 양성을 통해 국가와 지역사회 발전에 기여하는 지역혁신 중심대학으로 발전해 나갈 것이며, 미래사회의 인력 수요에 대응하는 고등직업교육기관의 최우수 모델이 될 것입니다.

A prestigious institute for employment established by the Korean government

A global leader in industry-academia education

Gyeonggi University of Science and Technology, formerly the Fine Instruments Center (FIC) established by the government in 1966 with a loan from UNESCO,prides itself on its history and tradition of being a leader in technical education for over 50 years.

As a specialized university for industrial development, it was established and opened by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy in 1999 to meet the demand for industrial technology and nurture competitive technical talent.

Since its opening, the school has successfully carried out various government supported projects. It was selected for main financial support projects implemented by the Ministry of Education, such as the University For Education Competency Reinforcement, World-Class College (WCC), Specialized College of Korea (SCK), and Specialized College Innovation Support projects.In August 2021, it was designated as a General Financial Support University’, which is the highest grading given by the Ministry of Education and will also be carrying out the ‘Specialized College Innovation Support Project’ from 2022.

In addition, new departments are being established and promoted according to the Seoul New Collar School and P-TECH (Pathways in Technology Early College High School) agreement for educational innovation.The fostering of new digital technology talent and innovation sharing university project, as well as the specialized college development project to pioneer the department for early employment contract are expected to greatly contribute to the university’s development by 2026.

The university has established a mid- to long-term development plan (Vision 2025) and through organic cooperation with all faculty, staff, students, and companies located in the country’s largest national industrial complex in West Gyeonggi, it aims to develop into the best university in fostering industrial technical talent with excellent field adaptability to cope with demands of the fourth industrial revolution.
