가톨릭관동대학교는 1955년 관동대의숙을 시작으로 2014년 9월 가톨릭관동대학교로 새로운 출발했습니다. 그동안 우리 대학은 지역과 우리나라, 나아가 세계 사회에 훌륭한 인재들을 양성하여 배출함으로써 창학 이념을 성실하게 구현해왔고, 그 유구한 역사와 전통의 기반 위에서 이제 가톨릭 정신을 실천하는 명실상부한 최고의 사학으로 자리매김하고 있습니다.

특히 지난 2014년 9월 1일 가톨릭관동대학교로 새롭게 출발하면서 글로벌 수준의 최고 의료진과 최첨단 의료장비를 갖춘 국제성모병원을 부속병원으로 확보하고, 보건의료과학분야 특성화대학으로 새롭게 도약할 기반을 튼튼하게 다지게 되었습니다.

우리 가톨릭관동대학교는 그동안 한국대학교육협의회 기관평가 인증을 획득한 것은 물론 LINC3.0사업, 지자체-대학 협력 기반 지역혁신 사업(RIS), 평생교육체제지원사업, 창업선도대학 사업 및 초기창업패키지 주관기관 사업, 대학일자리플러스센터사업, 고교교육 기여대학 지원사업, IPP형 일학습병행제사업, 대학인권센터 선도 모델 시범대학 등 교육부와 정부가 주관한 사업을 성공적으로 수행하고 있습니다.

The process of teaching and learning what humans require in life; we call this "education". Education is a holy act that not only delivers the knowledge and skills necessary for social life, but provides opportunities for people to experience self-realization in search of their potential and help them to grow up holistically. Unfortunately, the present educational environment seems to be pushing our young people into infinite competition driven by materialism rather than true teachings. If true college education fails to be centered within this educational environment, our society will eventually lose its precious value.

The very first value we pursue at Catholic Kwandong University is \\'Truth\\', a lesson to be learned. A sincere heart and attitude enable us to face the truth. Based on the truth, we will educate our people with the right personality, knowledge and skills, and help our young people to successfully design their lives with a true attitude. I will play a role in leading and helping you to be the light of the world in living with your neighbors. I will also be a strong stepping stone for you to have the courage to face the world without fear.

Nestled in the beautiful Gangneung area of the eastern end of Gangwon-do, our university faces great mountains and a wide ocean, and it is full of pine scent reminiscent of mettle of our spirit. As a cradle of education representing the beauty of Gangneung city, the university will be a place where students feel secured enough to come back to againg and again.
